public forum on the tax levy
From: Eric MacGilvray
Neighbors,
As you know Riverlea has a tax levy issue on the ballot on November 2. The levy is to replace the existing operating levy that was passed in 2005, and which expires this year. Council has voted to raise the amount of the levy from 4.5 to 5.0 mills.
There will be a forum for Riverlea residents to discuss the levy this coming Tuesday, the 19th, at 7:30 in the Thomas Worthington High School library. Briggs Hamor and I will make a brief presentation about the budget situation in the Village and the reasons why Council believes that this levy is necessary, and we will then take questions from residents. Residents should use the front parking lot of the high school and enter through the front doors.
For a bit of background on the levy see the article that I wrote for the September Riverlea News: Information
To see what the levy would cost your family if passed, search for your property at the Franklin County Auditor's web site and click on "Current Levy Info" in the menu on the left.
We hope to see you all at the public forum on the 19th. Again, this isn't a comprehensive email list, so please spread the word to neighbors as possible and appropriate.
